Daily Requirements

Bring the textbook or handouts, a loose leaf notebook, and pencils (not pens) to class daily.  You will need a graphing calculator.  TI-83 or TI-84 recommended.   Homework is to be completed thoroughly as assigned.

Honor/Behavior

                Students are expected to:

--Follow the school’s honor code in all of their work.  I will give specific instructions on how this applies to work done outside the classroom.

--Treat me and others with respect and consideration and work with other students often in a cooperative and constructive manner.

--Do nothing that would keep themselves and others from learning in a positive way.  This includes talking when I or another is talking.

--Act always in a safe and responsible manner. This includes staying out of cabinets and drawers and leaving equipment and materials alone, unless directed.

Grades:

Assessment and evaluation of progress is made through numerous methods and includes, but is not limited to, tests, quizzes, homework, projects, and class participation(both individual and in groups).  Quarterly grades will consist of approximately 65-80% for tests, 15-20% for quizzes, and 10-20% for homework. In addition, there will be two semester exams—one at midyear (cumulative from the beginning of the year) and a final (cumulative from the midyear exam).  The semester and final grades will be computed in accordance with the student handbook procedures.

Late work:

Policies outlined in the student handbook will be followed.

Absences:

It is a student’s responsibility to come to me immediately upon return to class after an absence to discuss making up any work.
