Educational Philosophy

·       I believe that all children can learn.

·       I believe that knowledge is shared in families, communities, and in the classroom.  We can increase our knowledge as learners and teachers when we utilize our local and global resources and tools.  In this manner we can learn and grow.

·       I believe that we all enter the classroom with unique personal experiences that we can build upon in order to increase our growth and abilities.

·       I believe that our schools should be safe and nurturing environments where children are inspired to seek out knowledge and opportunities, and develop into life long learners who actively pursue the possibilities society has to offer them.

·       I believe that important skills for a student’s future can be discovered and developed through education, and that the classroom can be the origin for new paths in a student’s life.

·       I believe that we should measure our student’s growth not only through traditional methods, but also through observation, personal goals and achievements, and student produced portfolios and products.
